The Bartlett Family Adventure

The Bartlett Family Adventure is all about the moments that take my breath away as I grow in the glory of God, and live my life to the best of my ability while raising two rowdy boys. This blog is not just about me, it also includes stories of my family's daily adventures. We home school our boys, are trying to grow our fruits and vegetables, we are all on a journey to God, we are trying to live sustainably, and most importantly love the life we lead. Sometimes we stumble, but mostly I like to think we prevail. I am blogging to keep a sort of shared journal. Our life may be messy but it is perfect.

Poetry Thursday

As promised today's poem is also an Emily Dickinson poem. This video is not the one I set out looking for but I kept coming back to it. The woman reading the poem I'll tell you how the sun rose helps to bring it to life. So here is today's poem  I'll Tell You How The Sun Rose by Emily Dickinson.

I'll Tell You How the Sun Rose
By Emily Dickinson

I’ll tell you how the sun rose,
A ribbon at a time.
The steeples swam in amethyst,
The news like squirrels ran.

The hills untied their bonnets,
The bobolinks begun.
Then I said softly to myself,
"That must have been the sun!"

But how he set, I know not.
There seemed a purple stile.
Which little yellow boys and girls
Were climbing all the while

Till when they reached the other side,
A dominie in gray
Put gently up the evening bars,
And led the flock away.

I hope your day is filled with inspiration, love, and laughter. Be well my friends.
