Rush
rushing
the time is here
the clock has chimed
I am waiting
to see your blue eyes
to feel your warmth
in a sweet embrace
Tick Tock
My heart is beating
my lungs are breathing
in my stomach butterflies
are singing
My love is not hiding
let me whisper
dark promises
worth repeating
in the moonlight
The clock keeps ticking
while I watch
out the window
for your return
My love is waiting

The Bartlett Family Adventure
The Bartlett Family Adventure is all about the moments that take my breath away as I grow in the glory of God, and live my life to the best of my ability while raising two rowdy boys. This blog is not just about me, it also includes stories of my family's daily adventures. We home school our boys, are trying to grow our fruits and vegetables, we are all on a journey to God, we are trying to live sustainably, and most importantly love the life we lead. Sometimes we stumble, but mostly I like to think we prevail. I am blogging to keep a sort of shared journal. Our life may be messy but it is perfect.

Poetry Thursday
Standing among the clouds
soft whispering mist
swirling gracefully
A brisk autumn breeze
catches pieces of me
The wind becomes a hurricane
the pieces rush away
As the sun rises
the rosy colors blur
this secret world emerges
Below the clouds
the sharp uneven edges
cut into me
crimson seeps
circles surround me
the mist disappears silently
in the piercing sunlight
My pieces are distant
there are too many
lost
Broken from within
Here I finally see clearly
by the light of the day
the sun is hot unrelenting
burning my skin
I am spread too thin

5. 5 o’clock:
I spent my afternoon canning cream of mushroom soup. I found a really wonderful recipe here http://www.grouprecipes.com/36004/condensed-cream-of-mushroom-soup-substitute.html
Here is the recipe. For me it is a staple. Trust me you will never go back to the canned goop from the store.
How to make it
If you want to can cream of mushroom soup do not add the milk. I made a huge batch 16 tbsp of butter, 5 pounds or so of Mushrooms and so on. I put these in the pressure canner at 10 pounds of pressure for 45 minutes. It is important that you check with your instruction book because altitude does play an important part of canning.
Finally the picture of the day.
I hope you are having a wonderful day filled with love and laughter. Be well my friends.

Condensed Cream Of Mushroom Soup Substitute
- Time 10 minutes
- Serves 4
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp. butter
- 3 tbsp. flour
- 1/2 cup any broth (I used a beef bouillon cube to make mine)
- 1/2 cup milk
- mushrooms, chopped and sauteed (how ever much you desire)
- salt and pepper to taste
How to make it
- Melt butter in a saucepan over Med-Low heat.
- Stir in flour a little at a time until smooth, then remove from heat.
- Add broth and milk a little at a time, stirring to keep mixture smooth. Then, stir in mushrooms.
- Return to heat and bring sauce to a gentle boil; stir constantly until sauce thickens.
- Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Notes: This sauce can be used as a substitute for CONDENSED Cream of Mushroom Soup.
- Original recipe and other variations you can make can be found at http://www.recipezaar.com/278274

Look at all those lovely mushrooms in each one of those jars. This is a wonderful recipe whether you can it or just throw it in to a casserole. I hope you give it a try.

This is a picture of my
Craftsy Class on making a Couture Dress. Well, I used it to make a summer
dress. As you can see in the picture I am on the last stretch of the dress,
Hems. The truth is, between you and me of course, I used a different pattern
which caused me to only kind of follow directions. So you guessed it my dress
is not Couture. Oh well, maybe next time. Wow my explanation is getting really
long. I love Craftsy http://www.craftsy.com/classes.
You can learn a new skill from professionals. I will post my finished dressed.
I hope your day is filled with love and laughter. Be well my friends.

Chickens are so pretty.
I may have gone a little crazy chasing them.
I want chickens in every color.
When we start our own little homestead.
Maybe I can paint one of these silly birds.

Officially I am in love with these two cows. Oh how I wish I could keep them in my back yard.
She loves to be pet right on that nose.
Of course she could just be begging for a treat. But I want to believe she likes me too.

My Voice
my voice
echoes off the walls
I wonder if it has any weight at all
Is there sound
audible to all
My thoughts are loud
I hear the words
falling from my lips
all around me do not flinch
No replies
no movement
My Voice
my voice
louder I call
The reactions are there
anger is returned
No sweetness spared
punished am I
for my volume
This could have been avoided
had you answered
the first time
